Support our SchoolsEducation is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
One of our primary goals at Love and Grace Ministry is to educate and empower the next generation in Ounaminthe, Haiti. We are putting that call into action as we have five schools serving 570 students. As you can imagine, the cost of running five schools is great and includes teacher and staff salaries, meals for the children, school supplies, uniforms, construction, maintenance and more. Where will you choose to support?
Our ministry base and main school educates and serves 370 children grades Preschool 1 through 9th grade. We also have four satellite schools each serving Preschool 1 through first grade with a total of 200 children collectively. We rent each of our four satellite school locations which is an added expense for the ministry.
With 570 students within our schools, it is our desire to feed each of them daily which is one of our greatest expenses and needs. The frequency of their meals depends on our donations.
Dedicated to teaching this upcoming generation is a group of 26 men and women who we are grateful to have on our team. They walk in the elements, as do the children, to and from school each day. Each teacher receives between $75 - $100 per month. In addition to paying our teachers, we have a team of 13 that work in the kitchen and other areas that are also financially compensated for their work. All of our teachers and team members understand our ministry functions with donations. For this reason their position is considered voluntary but is a priority to us. In addition to our teachers and team, you may consider donating to support our founders and missionaries Augusto and Dedra. We must take care of those who care for the multitude!
Last but not least, as we grow so must our space! Our need for financial support in construction is dire. We are building up at our main location adding new classroom space. We are also building dormitories for missionary groups as well as our full time missionaries, Dedra and Augusto. We are building private bathrooms for our teachers and missionaries and relocating the girls bathrooms for more privacy and growth reasons.[ read more ]
